About me

A HCPC Registered Forensic Psychologist with 12+ years of experience helping individuals through major life challenges. Specialising in evidence-based therapies tailored to each person’s needs.

Life’s challenges can sometimes feel overwhelming, bringing emotions and thoughts that may affect your well-being, relationships, or daily life. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or other difficulties, therapy can offer a space to make sense of these experiences and find ways to move forward.

I have a strong passion for perinatal care, supporting individuals through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood, including pregnancy loss, traumatic births, tokophobia, and postnatal adjustment. My empathetic, informed approach helps navigate these transitions with resilience and hope.

Therapeutic approaches

Trained in a range of evidence-based therapy models, we will work together to find an approach which is tailored to your specific needs.

Recognising that therapeutic terminology can seem unclear or intimidating, I will ensure you feel informed and empowered throughout your therapy journey.

Some of the therapeutic approaches used include:

Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy for treating trauma symptoms. It is recognised by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. EMDR can also be used to help with a range of presenting problems such as anxiety, depression, addictions, and relational issues.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). However, this intervention is adapted for people who feel emotions very intensely. DBT aims to help you understand, accept and cope with your emotions.

Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) is a therapeutic approach that aims to help those who experience shame and self-criticism, which may result from past trauma. CFT aims to help you develop skills of compassion to others to support improvements in mood and relational problems.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) aims to improve psychological flexibility by teaching individuals to accept their thoughts and feelings, rather than trying to control them, and to actively commit to behaviors that align with their core values, even when faced with challenging emotions or situations.
